The City of Medford is looking for volunteers for a new Medford Bicycle Advisory Commission to the Mayor. The Commission will meet approximately 6-10 times per year to discuss issues related to bicycling in Medford, make recommendations, and report back to the City in an advisory capacity.
Prospective members should preferably have:
- An active interest in bicycling
- Experience/interest in community outreach (e.g., social media, press releases, etc.)
- Interest in learning about some technical aspects that relate to biking (e.g., bike lanes, dedicated bike paths, motor vehicle laws)
- Experience with Medford’s roads as someone who lives in, works in, or commutes through Medford.
If you are interested in applying to the Commission, please submit a letter as your application. Address the letter to Mayor Michael McGlynn. Include your name and contact information, and a brief description (about 1-3 paragraphs) of why you would like to be on the Commission and any relevant experience (such as service with a community group) that would make you a suitable member. Applications are due by Friday, March 15, 2013.
