City of Medford Employees Trained in CPR by Armstrong Ambulance

Recently Armstrong Ambulance provided free CPR training to a number of City Hall employees in honor of February being American Heart Month.

The employees were taught by Armstrong Paramedics that included EMT Wally Rucki and Medford residents Sean Mangan and Victor Marchese. The course began with classroom work in which basic CPR skills were discussed, such as the head tilt-chin lift and how to give proper compressions and breaths. Later, the employees, under the watchful eyes of the instructors, performed actual CPR on adult, children and infant dummies. The employees who took the class are now certified in CPR and obtained a Heartsaver course completion card. Armstrong Ambulance is hoping to host a First Aid class for the employees in the near future.

“I applaud Armstrong Ambulance for coming forward to offer this most important health class to our employees. I believe it is critical for as many people as possible to be able to learn these life saving techniques. Because of this class, we now have at least one employee certified in CPR located on each floor of Medford City Hall. I am grateful that Armstrong Ambulance offered to provide this and other classes to our City employees. In doing so, Armstrong is helping to improve the quality of life for all in the City of Medford,” said Mayor Michael J. McGlynn.
